James D. Beatty Jim Beatty, President and founder, started Trinity Capital Corporation in 1982 and Trinity Capital Securities Limited in 1988. With over twenty years experience in the investment industry, he has, for the past fifteen years, focused on the financing and development of small and medium sized enterprises.

Jim has sat on 27 public company boards in both Canada and the United States. He has customarily chaired the Audit Committee or Compensation Committee, and he presently sits on six public company boards. He is past president of the Association for Corporate Growth and is a frequent guest lecturer at York University and the University of Toronto.

Jim earned a MBA and MA from the University of Toronto, Canada. Jim and his wife, Susan reside in Toronto, Canada with their two children, Sydney and Sandy. An avid sport sailor, and a board member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, Jim has been on Canada's national sailing team, has won a bronze in the Pan Am Games, and has served as a Canadian representative for the International Sailing Federation. He recently participated in the ISAF World Sailing Championships held in Cadiz, Spain in September 2003.

Johan van’t Hof Johan van’t Hof joined the Trinity Team in May 2003. Since 2001, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Carter Group, Inc., a North American electronics auto parts manufacturer. Prior to this position, Johan has been a partner and managing director for PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities Inc., Project Finance & Privatization (1991-2001), and a corporate finance partner (and partner in charge of the national office) with Grant Thornton and its predecessors (1983-1991). Johan started his career in corporate finance at the Ontario Securities Commission (1982-1983).

Johan is a Canadian and Dutch citizen with languages including English, Dutch, French and German. His extensive education includes a successful completion of the Project Finance Program at the Amsterdam Institute of Finance and he is also a Chartered Accountant. Johan received his Bachelor of Commerce and MBA in finance at the University of Toronto, and a certificate in proficiency at the Royal Canadian College of Organists.

Johan is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, and has taught at the University of Waterloo, as well as the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the past President for the MBA Alumni Association at the University of Toronto; has given several conference presentations at the Canadian Council for Public Private Partnerships, et al. Johan is also a member of the Financial Advisory Committee for the Toronto Adolescent Recovery Centre and Chair for the Organ Renewal Committee at St. John’s, York Mills, and is a member of the board of directors at the Toronto Community Care Access Centre.

Amanda Karahanas

Amanda joined Trinity as a business associate in September 2002 after achieving an Honours, BA in Applied Economics from Queen's University. Since then, Amanda has been involved in all aspects of Trinity’s deals, contributing to the research, due diligence and closings. Amanda sits on the board for the Toronto Associates Club, providing an educational platform for aspiring professionals within Toronto’s financial community.

Amanda is an avid sports enthusiast. She is a certified skiing and sailing instructor. In her spare time, she is a competitive sailor and enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with friends.
